2017 Norelco 6100 Review Update: this shaver just dropped almost $20 from the MSRP and is now just over $80 on Amazon. It has also added almost 150 reviews since the original publishing of this review. So I think it is safe to say this continues to be a popular shaver.

The Shaver 6100 comes with Philips patented DualPrecision rotary heads. These heads are unique in they have two different slots that cut your hair.
One for the normal hairs and then smaller holes that get that last bit of stubble. They really went all out on this one making sure you get the closest shave possible. Below skin level even!
The 5500 model is a few more bucks but this shaver might provide you with a better value. It has a lot more reviews and a higher rating as well on Amazon.
If you have a thick beard, you may need to spend a little more on a higher end razor, but if you have an average beard this shaver will work just fine for you. Especially for being a shaver under $100, you won’t get anything fancy, just a quality shaver.
They also slapped on a SkinGlide shaving surface to each rotary that helps the head slide across your face effortlessly. Most razors today have something like this which helps with irritation or red bumps for those of you with sensitive skin.
Another feature that we are not fans of here at Best Men’s Shaver is the clip on trimmer. Most of the Philips models include this and we just think it is slightly less useful then having the trimmer be a part of the shaver itself.
What happens if you forget to pack the trimmer when you leave for a trip or even worse what happens when you leave your trimmer in the hotel room??
Luckily this model makes up for that little shortfall with its other features. Like being a wet dry system. Since you can get this feature on most razors today, even the ones less than $100, you should just make sure your next razor includes that feature.
You never know when you will want to throw on some shaving cream!
Just like the 5500 shaver the head also moves and rotates in 5 different directions. This allows the blades to get as close as possible removing every last bit of stubble.
It is able to rotate in 5 different directions because of their GyroFlex 2D contouring technology. This allows the rotary heads to tilt inwards which you will love on your chin and jawline compared to foil shavers.
This model used to be known as the SensoTouch, however there is a 3D model as well. This one is the 2D and is a lot less expensive. Plus the replacements heads on the 3D are more expensive than this entire razor. Most people don’t notice enough difference to justify getting the 3D model.
They claim that this feature reduces pressure and irritation!
The Shaver 6100 (formerly known as SensoTouch) comes with their standard lithium-ion battery that gives you 50 minutes of shave time an hour of charging or a full shave with just 5 minutes of charging.
This battery tends to be the standard these days.
This rotary shave also comes with a super comfy non-slip grip. This isn’t a huge factor but just one more little bonus for the value you get out of this shaver.
The LED display shows you when the battery is full and when it needs to be charged. Not super fancy but efficient and you don’t have to fork out a bunch of cash for a fancy LED display like some other shavers.
Inside the box you will get a protective cap, the charging cord/stand, a cleaning brush as well as the razor.
Overall for being a few bucks under $100 this will give you a quality shave for not being the best shaver on the market. However, the biggest benefit you are going to see is the convenience and time that you save. Think about all of the time you spend prepping your face if you wet shave with a safety razor. There is essentially no prep when you use an electric shaver like this, just make sure it is charged!
