I had no idea these “bad boys” were available on amazon! I am seriously tempted – I have always fancied trying out one of the old fashioned “cut throat razors” as they are nick named.
Would you mind giving an indication of just how close a shave this can give me in comparison to gillete fusion. I have always been a wet shaver (close on 30 years now) are any particular different techniques required or is it the same as regular wet shaving?

You can definitely get just as close a shave as a gillette fusion with this straight razor. The technique is different than using a cartridge razor or DE safety razor.
Since you don’t have the protection those other two options offer you will need to take your time until you get the technique down.
The angles are different but this straight edge gives you more freedom on your shave.

Very interesting article on a product I did not know even existed, I have never seen a straight razor except for on old movies on TV.
How difficult is it to shave with this type of razor, could it be dangerous for someone who never used one to start shaving with one now?
I use the disposable razors right now, I do not like the electric razors and do not know if I could master this type of razor or not?

There is a little bit of a learning curve with this straight razor but I am confident you can master the technique.
Just take it slow and if you use a good shaving cream or pre-shave oil this should help the razor slide better and help eliminate cuts.

That is great to hear Phil, every man has their own preference. Just a heads up these do use disposable razor blades and you might find them cheaper than your current blades.
i recently lost a good straight edge. but it had a tiny spacy blocking the actual blade from reaching the end of the razor. i just ordered the equinox on amazon and it comes with 100 derby single edge blades. for 15 bucks, cant go wrong. and theres no blockage, so shaping or styling a beard/sideburns is much easier. im looking forward to it arriving in a couple of days and will shave the next morning with it as well as report back my review.
