2017 Panasonic Arc 3 Review Update: the Panasonic ES LT33 seems to be losing ground vs. the LT41 which continues to see more sales as the price has dropped about $25.
Description of Panasonic ES-LT33-S Arc3 Electric Razor
If the Panasonic ES-LT33-S Arc3 Electric Razor seems a little familiar that is because it is. It is a very similar razor to the LT41 Arc3 with only just a few subtle differences. So, for the extra $1 you may want to just go ahead and get the LT41.
To start it has 3 independently floating foil blades that allow the head to hug your face around the curvy areas like your chin and jaw line. This helps get a close shave and reduce irritation since you won’t have to go over the same spot so many times.
The head also pivots up and down and from side to side which again increase the performance and reduces friction. The reduced friction will also help reduce skin irritation. This should also decrease the amount of time it takes to shave your face which also reduces irritation.
The LT33 uses the same Nanotech blades as the LT41 which are honed to a 30 degree angle. This helps the electric shave get close to the base of the hair giving you a close yet comfortable shave. These blades are also hypoallergenic which is great for those of you with sensitive skin.
Like most other razors these days it is capable of wet shaving. No, you won’t get electrocuted in the shower and you can use your favorite shaving gel.
The motor is powerful at 13,000 cuts per minute but this is one small difference from the 14,000 cpm motor on the LT41.You probably won’t notice that much of a difference but 7% is still 7%! It should still be fast enough to eliminate any pulling or pinching of your hair which would be sure to cause some redness or irritation.
Panasonic tries to make it easy to clean by offering a sonic vibration mode that you can use under a running faucet, this will help shake loose and remove stubble as well as any residue from your shaving gel. Keeping your blades clean will keep them sharper longer and you won’t have to replace them as frequently.
The LT33 also comes with a very useful pop-up trimmer. Simply push it up while you are using the shaver to turn this trimmer on, it is easy to use and a convenient option.
One other small difference is the LED display only has 5 stages of power indicator where the LT41 has 10 stages. Again not a huge deal but with only a $1 difference it seems like a no brainer to go with the LT41, you can check out our review of that here.
It also comes with the standard lithium ion battery with a universal charging cord and a travel pouch.
Reviews
This does have a 4.5 rating on Amazon but nowhere near the total amount of reviews as the LT41 however they are almost all positive, only 1 is a 1 star and only 1 is a 3 star. Every other review is a 4 or 5 with mostly 5 stars.
This is a quit shaver compared to Braun shavers that have the vibration technology and might even shave closer than some models. It has also noted that this shaver is easy to clean.

I’ve been trying to find a good razor to get my boyfriend as he always complains about bad ones he has. I’ll most likely take your advice and get the LT41 for another dollar. I know you mentioned that it is designed to fight irritation caused by shaving, but have there been any accounts of the opposite happening and skin irritation happening? Thanks for the great article 🙂
Jeremysays
You’re welcome Katie. Everyone is different so while the shaver might help reduce irrritation for most it is possible it could cause it for some.
However, irritation is usually caused when the hairs are cut too short and they curl back into the skin. Electric shavers in general do not cut as close as a safety razor, so they are usually better for those with sensitive skin.

Great review. Iv been looking across the market for a new shaver and this looks like something i would most definitely be interested in. How does this shaver compare to others on the market in within this price range? Whats battery life like on this or do you suggest charging every night?
Jeremysays
Hi Lee, great questions. Just like with most electric shavers you should get 45-60 minutes of shaving with just a one hour charge. So charging every night is probably overkill, once a week should be fine.
For just $1 more you can get the LT41 which has a little more power, in my opinion, it is probably worth it to get that one.

Shaving with comfort is need of time, people no longer spend hours for shaving, there are lots of new equipments added daily by big brands for men,
Panasonic is my favourate among them. Thanks for sharing the insight .People are always looking for products that would give them maximum comfort during shaving, reduce their time and also the one which is cost effective.
Jeremysays
Good points Amit, I believe the LT33 Arc3 will satisfy all of those needs you listed. It will give you a comfortable shave in a reasonable amount of time for a good price.
It is not easy to find all of these features at this price point, being under $100.

Hi. It does seem like a good product and offers lots of great features. However, as you mention in your review, I feel the LT41 would be the better product for me due to having more power settings. I currently use a shaver with low power output, which I feel affects performance. So for me personally, higher power would win every time.
Jeremysays
Good point Daniel, if you are looking for more power than it might be worth it to pay a little more for the LT41.
If you decide to make a purchase let me know how you like it! The LT41 is a very popular shaver on Amazon.

Great article. I’m not in the market for a shaver, but my boyfriend just recently broke his and he has been contemplating which shaver to buy. This had a lot of good points that I will definitely pass on to him, and I’m sure he will appreciate. I certainly like the point that you add about why speed is important in a shaver to reduce irritation. I know a couple of guys who can’t shave often because of this reason, so it is a great tip to put out there.
Jeremysays
Hey Brittanie,
I’m glad you found this post helpful, skin irritation is a very common problem for a lot of men. If your boyfriends wants to quickly see a nice comparison of a few different razors, have him check out my top 10 comparison chart.

My man, I have been looking for a really good electric razor. I have been through a few, and I’m always left searching because I must have really sensitive skin, as they always leave me with razor bumps.
I like that these blades are hypoallergenic, so hopefully these can help me to get a good close shave like I like it! Thanks for this review!
Jeremysays
You’re welcome Christian! Yes if you have really curly beard hair razor bumps can be a problem. But you are right, these hypoallergenic blades should help out. Also skipping a day or two between shaves could help as well.
Let me know how you like it!

I definitely need a better shaver. I will tell you right now, I will be checking your website in the future to get the Panasonic ES-LT33-S ARC3 you gave very high rating (4.5/5 Stars) for a shaver that can be great for my sensitive skin. It also great that you mentioned, anyone who uses the product in the bathroom could not get electrocuted because some people today are just too cautious and/or close minded to try new things.
Thank you,
Elias
Jeremysays
You’re welcome Elias. I’m glad you found this post useful in your search for a new electric razor. If you really like the features this one offers you may be interested in the LT41, it is basically the same razor but with a little more power for pretty much the same price.
Either way I hope you enjoy whichever you decide on!

Hi Jeremy, thanks for an excellent review of the razor. It is very well written out and flows well when you are reading. Lots of very important features and worthwhile information. I can honestly say that if I were a male, I would certainly want to give one a try.
I might just have to buy this for my son!
Jeremysays
Thanks for stopping by Cheryl, your son would definitely love the Arc3. However, for just a little bit more you could probably get him the LT41 that has a few more features.

I’ve been looking for a good electric shaver for my husband. His birthday is coming up and this is a good time to start researching. Your site has made it simple to do some product and price comparisons. He hasn’t used an electric shaver in over 10yrs but he has been hinting he wants one. I’m leaning towards the Panasonic ES-LT33-S Arc3 Electric Razor. Got great reviews and the price is great too.
Jeremysays
I’m glad you enjoyed the post Mercedes. I am sure your husband will enjoy this, especially if he hasn’t used an electric razor in that long.
The technology has come along way and you don’t have to spend an arm and a leg on this Panasonic Arc3.

I have been looking for a good review on an electric razor for some time now. I’m old fashioned and I still use a manual one. But as time goes on. I figured it would benefit me more to catch up with the youngsters and get an electric one. I’m sold on this one just after reading this. I like it. Awesome review.
Jeremysays
I’m glad you enjoyed the review James, after you have had a chance to use the Arc3 for awhile, let me know how you like it!
Igorsays
Thank you for an overview and a very good review of this razor. And the option for this one from the Panasonic manufacturer could be may right for anyone. It has too a good rating from Amazon ( 4.5/5 ), which is not bad I think. But LT41 is a better alternative for me, The difference in the price is only $1.
Jeremysays
I can’t blame you there Igor. Be sure to check the current price, I believe both of these have come down since the original publishing of this article. However, the Lt41 may still be slightly more expensive.
Maxxsays
Awesome review for the electric razor. I was thinking buying my FIRST electric since the price point is suitable for me and need a more practical one.
I also realize there is 2 years warranty covered. What kind does the warranty cover? Would like to know before making the purchase.
Last but not least how long do I need to charge for the battery?
Thanks
Jeremysays
Hey Maxx,
The warranty covers and manufacturer defects so if something stops working like it should for no reason it should be covered. Keep in mind you will need to replace the head every 12-18 months so that is probably not covered.
You should only need to charge it for an hour to get a full charge.
I hope I have answered your questions!
