Description of Perfecto Brush
If you are looking for a great starter brush, this Perfecto brush is pure badger and just might be the one for you. It is one of Amazon’s top sellers, probably because they are selling for less than $20 with free shipping right now.
If you are seasoned wet shaver this may not be the brush for you. It only uses pure badger hair which is the lowest of the grades. However, that doesn’t mean this is a bad brush. It will still get the job done. It just might be a little coarser than those with Best or Silvertip hair.
This brush is 4 inches in total length with the knot being two inches and the handle being two inches so it is very close to the average size for shaving brushes.
It is made in China and Perfecto states the usual warning of shedding during the first few uses. This is normal, you may want to simply wash the brush a few times with soap or shampoo before your first use.
For maintenance, you should rinse and always hang upside down for it to dry. This brush doesn’t come with a stand but for about the same price, you can get it as well.
It has an even higher rating of 4.8 with over 3,000 reviews! This must be a nice stand that people are using with other brands of brushes.
Because they use a grade of pure badger hair on these brushes this brush may be better for exfoliating your skin. Perfecto lists this in their product description and some of the reviews mention it as well. This is great for you skin in general but also helps you get a more efficient shave. All those dead skin cells are just more gunk to clog up your razor.
If you don’t like black, they have other colors as well:
- Yellowish Wooden
Complaints of Perfecto Brush
While most of the reviews are positive for this brush there are a few complaints. One of the most common is that the shedding doesn’t seem to stop even after the initial first few uses. However, many of the positive reviews talk specifically about this not being a problem so maybe they just got a bad batch.
Another complaint we saw a couple times was the knot falling off the handle after being dropped. While you certainly wouldn’t expect this from just one drop and you can’t really say it is Perfecto’s fault, it might not have the same quality of craftsmanship as some of the more expensive brushes. Just make sure you are careful with it!
People with sensitive skin might find these bristles a little to coarse. While it will feel like exfoliation for most it might feel irritating for some so if you know you have sensitive skin you may want to pony up the extra dollars and go for a silvertip brush.
Conclusion – Perfecto Brush
No matter how you look at it, this is still a great value brush. Is it going to be the best on the market? No. But for less than $20 you can get a brush that will do what it is supposed to. If you are looking to get into wet shaving, then this would be a relatively inexpensive piece of equipment to try out while deciding if you are going to make a permanent switch.
If you end up not wanting to switch, well then you didn’t have too much money invested in it!
